This rare and finely woven Persian rug comes from Sanandaj (formerly Senneh) — the heart of Iran’s Kurdish weaving tradition. Known for their exceptional precision, Senneh rugs are prized by collectors and connoisseurs for their unique weave, tribal symbolism, and sophisticated detailing.  Weave & Construction:
This rug is hand-knotted using the traditional asymmetrical Senneh knot (Persian knot), on a fine cotton foundation, with a high knot count estimated around 250–300 KPSI. The weave is tight and supple, giving the rug both durability and a refined texture that responds beautifully to light.
  Materials & Dyes:
Crafted from fine hand-spun wool, the rug has retained a luxurious feel even as it has aged. All dyes are believed to be natural and vegetable-based, with a beautiful patina forming over the ivory background, lending it a warm, time-softened character.
  Design Details:
What makes this Senneh truly stand out is its rare Herati-like allover pattern, reimagined with tribal totem motifs. Birds, animals, human figures, and floral elements are intricately repeated across the field in symmetrical rows, rich in red, deep blue, forest green, beige, and ochre.
